Alté Labs was established in 2022, a contemporary experimental studio in Baltimore, Maryland. Operating as a dynamic, community-centered hub and rental space for artists, brands, and entrepreneurs to explore, develop, and produce photo and visual work. Rooted in the West African subculture of “Alté,” (Uhl-Teh) meaning alternative expression and creative freedom, we provide accessible, thoughtfully designed environments for photoshoots, audio/visual production, exhibitions, styling, private grooming, and intimate event activations. Central to our mission is strengthening the bridge of the diaspora, fostering cultural exchange, connection, and shared narratives across communities. Through curated space, in-house creative support, intentional programming and partnerships, Alté Labs empowers creatives to experiment, collaborate, and build meaningful visual narratives while cultivating a lasting ecosystem that nurtures growth, ownership, and cultural impact within and beyond Baltimore.
